You know the one you're dreaming of? A little crisp on the outside but chewy and chocolatey on the inside? I think I've found it!
Makes 14 cookies Ingredients: 1.5 cups All Purpose Flour 0.5 cup (1 stick) Unsalted butter, softened 1 Egg (room temperature) 0.5 cup White Granulated Sugar 0.5 cup Light Brown Sugar 0.5 teaspoon Baking Soda 0.25 teaspoon Baking Powder 0.5 teaspoon Salt 1 cup Bittersweet chocolate chips/discs 1 teaspoon (overflowing) Vanilla Extract 1 pinch Flaky Sea Salt Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper Step 2: Mix together the sugars, then add the butter, egg and vanilla until fully combined (about 45 seconds Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder Step 4: Add the dry ingredients to the wet in two batches, scraping down the bowl between each addition (about 45 seconds after each addition) Step 5: Stir in chocolate chips by hand (do not over-mix) and form 1.5 inch balls by hand, or scoop with a cookie/ small ice cream scoop. Place dough ball about 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Step 6: Sprinkle each cookie with sea salt and place them in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until fragrant and just barely browned (mine took 8.5 minutes) Tip: for extra delicious chocolatey "layers" I used 66% chocolate baking discs instead of chips!
